Hello! I'm still alive, beleive it or not. It's been crazy crazy crazy!
The show over the summer went pretty well. There was a nice turn out on the reception day! i got mentioned in some news papers and the Wyandotte news paper did a very nice article and featured my homie Jason Rohler, who was interpreting the paintings to music with an electric piano wired with all sorts of electrical what nots. I was working late nights all the way up to the reception so when it was done, i had to mellow out a bit. Find some other interests to shift back down to a normal gear. and now i am back at school. I'm working my ass off for my last semester here at Kendall college of art and design. My portfolio classes (which to the fine arts person or even maybe most lay people) are my thesis work. I'm illustrating as many music albums as possible and in my other portfolio class im doing editorial illustratons. these are a hell of a lot funner than i was expecting them to be. so yea yea yea.....
It's busy man. right from the get go, im working.
my editorial illustrations have been channeled into the more military aspects of articles. Over the summer i found out that there was an army base in North Carolina that had been giving it's soldiers, it's soldier's families and the surrounding community polluted water for 3 DECADES. The water was polluted with TCE and PCE, a degreaser and a dry cleaning agent, from a dry cleaning facility located on the base. An estimate says that about 200,000 marines passed through that base in those thirty years drinking and bathing in carcinogenic water. This does not account for the families that lived on the base or the civilian community surrounding the base. Rather appauling i think. So i did an illustration about that as my second in the series i will be presenting to the faculty in December.
My next strike is that incident that occured at the university of Florida. The STUDENT who asked Kerry some questions and ended up getting tazered in the auditorium. oh yea, first amendment rights? hmmm.... so yea. i feel empowered to support some stories that the country should probably be aware of.
I'm also thinking about tackling the JENA 6 situation too. e e e e e...
i've been very lazy about posting art works. i apologize. maybe someday soon when i've got more time than it took me to write this update.
